THE OPIUM DEN

About me
Presently I am living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I am working on a Ph.D. on British Imperialism in Asia. I am especially interested in the Anglo-Asian opium trade that transpired between c.1761 and 1913. I have lived five years in the Asian-Pacific region: two years in India, two years in Japan, a year on the Micronesian island of Guam, and a summer in Taiwan. I have studied a number of languages including Classical Greek, Latin, Sanskrit, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Urdu, Japanese, French, Spanish, and German. I am also interested in comparative religion, philosophy, and mythology/symbolism. I love to travel, especially to historic and natural sites. I really enjoy woods, lakes, rivers, beaches, hills, and mountains.
